How The Tamilnadu Culture Differs From the Whole World in History

The culture of a community is based on its history, habitat, beliefs, and language.  It is an undeniable fact that Tamil is one of the oldest languages in the world.  Since Tamil Nadu is a grassland, it produces grains and food, so Tamil Nadu relies on agriculture rather than hunting. So the people of Tamil Nadu worship animals, trees, plants, and even inanimate objects differently from other cultures.  We are going to see those points briefly.

How The Tamilnadu Culture Differs From the Whole World in History

Tamil Language

Nearly 70 million people worldwide speak Tamil which is more than the number of speakers of some country's languages.  It is the official language of Tamilnadu, Srilanka, and Singapore.  In addition, a significant number of people in South Africa, Canada, Saudi Arabia, and the United States speak Tamil.  Tamil was added to the classical language of India in 2004.  In fact, Tamil is the first classical language of India.

Dravidian Family - Languages in western India are native to European and Portuguese language families. But South Indian languages, especially Tamil, come from the Dravidian language family.  The Dravidian language family as a whole is spoken by over 250 million people worldwide.  Although the Dravidian language family appeared several hundred years ago, it was not until the 2nd century BC that the earliest evidence of Tamil Brahmi inscriptions engraved on cave walls in the Tirunelveli district was found.

The Dravidian language family can be classified as North, Central, South-Central, and South branch.  Tamil belongs to the south branch.  Now the question is where the Dravidian language comes from?  Some say it came from the Iranian plateau and some connect the Dravidian language to the Elamite Language.  And another theory tells it came from the first civilization Harappa and Mohenjo-Dora which started around 3000 BCE.

From the above, you can understand how ancient Tamil is.  If you ask me if languages that appeared five thousand years ago still exist today I can say no for sure.  Tamil is the only language spoken in the world today that is five thousand years old.  With a history of five thousand years, Tamil has survived through various eras and still stands today. During these millennia various things have affected language, its history, and its principles.

Tamil had a kind of culture in the early days but over time its culture would have definitely changed according to the evolution of the people.  So it has five thousand years of culture and has a kind of experience of how a culture could have been changed and different.  Moving on to the next factor,

Geography of Tamil Land

Here I've mentioned Tamil Land instead of Tamilnadu.  The reason is that Kumarikandam was at the time when Tamil first appeared.  And according to some sources Tamil has been spoken since the Harappa and Mohenjo-Dora civilization.  So it is clear that Tamil is not only spoken in Tamilnadu since the born of Tamil.  Where the people of Tamil Nadu lived, that is, where the Tamil-speaking people lived, would be considered the place of the Tamils. All the places where Tamils have lived in history are agricultural land.

The people of Tamil Nadu worked hard and got food as a result of many months of hard work. Thus the people of Tamil Nadu understood the whole beauty of food. So for a long time, Tamils have been thinking of food as equal to the Lord. The cow is one of the most supportive animals. He thinks of the cow and the bull as his relatives. Some people praise the benefits of the neem tree and see it as a deity.

Water is essential for the grains planted in the ground to grow into food.  The people of Tamil Nadu also consider water is sacred, which is the main reason for the growth of food that satisfies their hunger. The main examples are the Tamiraparani River and the Kaveri River.

Tamil Kings

Hindu kings ruled Tamil Nadu for thousands of years.  Everyone believed in each deity and built for them a temple as large as the Himalayas.  Before leaving for every war he left to worship the god he worshiped.  The kings of Tamil Nadu believed in God to that extent.  Like the king, the people had great faith in the Tamil gods.
