Many villages and towns around Krishnagiri in the Dharmapuri district get water from the Krishnagiri Dam for field irrigation and drinking water. Krishnagiri Dam is located in the village of Tuduganahalli in the Krishnagiri district of Tamil Nadu, across the Tenpennai River. Construction of Dam
The project, called KRP, was started in 1955. Then in 1958, the construction of the dam was completed. Kamaraj was then the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu who inaugurated the dam in 1955. The dam was built under a section(Command Area Development Authority) called CADA. The dam cost 15.9 Million Rupees to build. It is one of the finest dams built during the Kamaraj period.

The KRP Park
Krishnagiri Dam Park turns the KRP dam into a tourist place. The park has a variety of play equipment suitable for boys and girls to play with. The park is located very close to the Krishnagiri Dam. It was built by the Tamil Nadu Public Works Department and is currently being maintained. Especially here during the rainy season, you can go boating while the water is flowing in the river. Boating costs between 70 and 160 rupees. You can also do horseback riding here.
