Hogenakal Falls is located on the Cauvery River between Dharmapuri District in Tamil Nadu, South India, and Samrajnagar District in Karnataka. Hogenakal means smoke rocks in Kannada. The name derives from the fact that when the waterfall falls on the rocks below, the silky water hits the rocks like smoke coming out of the rocks. People come here all year round as the water of the Hogenakal River flows throughout the year. Oil massage, boating, bathing, and the beauty of the rocks are some of the attractions of this place.

The Hogenakkal waterfalls Boatman uses a round boat called the Coracles 2.24 meters in diameter for boating. This boat can carry up to 8 people at a time. This simple boat is built with bamboo within one day. Leather is used as a waterproofing material at the bottom of boats. Also, only one pulse is used to operate this boat.
